Cooperative workshop for fine art printmaking

The society was founded in 1960. It is currently engaging about 30 active members (professional artists). There is also a number of supporting members (about 50-60). For an annual fee (40 Euro) our members are receiving a fine art print. They are also invited to exhibitions and other activities in the workshop, and given the opportunity to buy other prints and portfolios at reduced prices.

The main objective for the society is to keep room and equipment for fine art printmaking, at reasonable costs.

Gävle konstgrafiker is also an active participator in the local cultural life and creating meeting points for professional artists and art interested public - by means of exhibitions, seminars, public talks and other social activities.

International exchanges and advances courses for artists are gradually becoming more important parts of our activities.

Gävle Konstgrafiker is a non-profit association and essentially dependent on voluntary work from its active members. Finances are dependent on public and private funding together with fees (and other contributions) from supporting members.

We are also a member of the national organisation for cooperative fine art workshops.

Development

Giving artists access to information technology! Provide computer equipment, working with digital images, offering internet connection, web hotel and education in publication techniques and other IT-possibilities.
